چکیده
Abstract Wind-farm parameterizations in weather models can be used to predict both the power output and farm effects on flow; however, their correctness has not been thoroughly assessed. We evaluate wind-farm parameterization of Weather Research Forecasting Model with large-eddy simulations (LES) wake performed same model. study impact velocity turbulence kinetic energy (TKE) inflow velocity, roughness, resolution, number turbines (one or two), inversion height strength. compare mesoscale LES by spatially averaging within areas correspondent horizontal spacing: one covering turbine area two downwind. find an excellent agreement between types simulations. However, area, we largest TKE discrepancies because simulations, turbine-added highest at position advected Within downwind areas, differences velocities increase as recovers faster LES, whereas for show similar levels. From various configurations, strength is small these heights The one-turbine appears under low-speed case due higher thrust, resolution low but high Our findings demonstrate that higher-fidelity are needed validate parameterizations.
